Introduction

Marquette is a highly respected independent university that was founded by the Catholic Jesuits in 1881. Jesuit education around the world has a 450-year history of academic rigor combined with care for the individual student.

Over 11,000 students are enrolled in programs leading to Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral, Dentistry and Law degrees. These include over 600 international students from 82 countries.

Approximately 95% of all Marquette faculty members hold the Ph.D. degree or other highest qualification in their fields. The student-faculty ratio at Marquette is 15:1.
