About Phoenix College

Phoenix College is a comprehensive and regionally accredited community college, offering smaller more personalized class sizes and innovative learning options such as on-line learning, hybrid classes combining both on-line and classroom instruction, short term courses, and learning communities. The student body reflects the diverse, multicultural central city community it serves with students attending from over 100 different countries, speaking over 50 languages. Students may choose from more than 200 educational programs and over 2,000 courses. PC also has excellent student support services including academic advisement, personal and career counseling, tutoring, financial aid, on-site child care, an international center, and disability and support services.

There are many opportunities for students to enjoy campus life, including student clubs, an internet radio station (phxinternetradio.com), live music and theater, and intercollegiate athletics. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is committed to offering assistance every step of the way, from the time you apply for admission to Phoenix College to the completion of your certificate or degree and beyond. We welcome international students to our campus.

You will enjoy the central location of Phoenix College, located just five miles from downtown, where you can find a number of professional sports including the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Coyotes. There are also professional soccer, women's basketball and arena football teams. There are museums, zoos, wildlife parks, botanical gardens, theaters, historic sites and a growing nightlife.

Phoenix College does not have dormitories. The International Education Center staff has housing information. Apartments in the area are usually available in various price ranges. "Home Stay" is also another option which offers a wonderful opportunity for students to help improve their English while learning American Culture.

Application Deadlines
International students are encouraged to apply as far in advance of the desired entry date as possible to allow ample time for application processing and other arrangements.

Admissions: How to Apply

For complete Admissions Instructions and forms, please visit our website at: www.phoenixcollege.edu/isc

  1. Complete the International Student Information Form
  2. Submit TOEFL, IELT or STEP Score Report
  3. Submit official secondary school transcripts and certificate or diploma, along with a certified English translation attached to the originals if they are not in English.
  4. Submit Evidence of Financial Support form, and bank documents, showing that you have a minimum of costs required.
  5. Official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities.
  6. A photocopy of your identification page in your passport.
Additional requirements if you are applying from within the United States:
  1. A photocopy of the I-94 card in your passport
  2. A photocopy of the visa page in your passport
  3. A photocopy of ALL prior I-20s
  4. A letter of transfer eligibility from current Designated School Official (DSO)
Requirements for Admission to the English as a Second Language Program:
  1. A completed application form
  2. Proof of intermediate level of English (such as six years of English in school, a letter of recommendation, or a test score)
  3. Official high school documents, transcripts, and completion certificates
  4. Financial support documents
